IO Electronic Fashion

IO is a concept for an “E-Fashion” label. Our goal with IO was to create a line of fashion products that utilize various display technologies to cover the exterior surface of the products. If these products were realized, you could use a linked smartphone app to change the surface appearance of any of IO product(s) at any time.

I worked with 2 electrical engineers (Jason Lachenmyer & Michael Montalvo) a software engineer (Ben Cheung) and also one physical product designer (Susan Zhang). We were able to create our own custom PCB circuit board for controlling display screen materials. In my organizer/designer role, I helped create a physical design for the first IO product, along with designing the UI for an iPhone app that controls the products; I also created all the presentation & marketing materials.

Role: UI/UX Design, Product Design, Project Management

Year: 2015-2017

Collaborators: Michael Montalvo, Jason Lachenmeyer, Susan Zhang, Ben Cheung
